Export shipments expose material weaknesses that domestic deliveries hide. Sections travel for weeks in humid containers, get handled several times, and often sit in a yard before installation, which is where an uncoated steel profile starts showing surface rust. Extruded aluminum from Indonesia extruded aluminum manufactures arrives with its own oxide layer already formed, so no galvanizing step is needed before shipment and light surface marking does not compromise the metal. Lower weight also reduces handling damage, since 6-metre lengths at a third of steel weight are easier to move without mechanical lifting.

PT Exalum Metal Indo extrudes at its facility in Tangerang, Indonesia, shipping industrial and architectural profiles to overseas buyers alongside domestic supply. The catalog of Exalummetal industrial aluminum products works on section numbers, fixed profile references whose dimensions repeat exactly across orders, which lets an importer restock without re-verifying fit. Below are the six profiles that make up most export volume.

    1. Equal Angle

Equal angle reinforces 90-degree junctions in rack framing, machine guards, shelving brackets, and corner protection. Section 20022 is a light 10 mm leg at 0.80 mm wall, 0.042 kg per metre, and section 20048 is heavier at a 19.05 mm leg with a 2.00 mm wall, 0.196 kg per metre. Since each wall thickness is a separate die, an importer can size to the actual load rather than paying freight on surplus metal across a full container.

    2. Heatsink

Heatsink profiles carry heat away from power electronics, LED housings, and telecom equipment through dense fin surface. Section 96008 runs a 1.00 mm wall at 0.331 kg per metre, and section 96003 carries thicker 1.50 mm fins at 0.875 kg per metre. Fin tips are the vulnerable part in transit, so anodised finishes and careful packing both matter on export orders. Section dimensions appear on the Exalum product pages.

    3. Rectangular Hollow

Rectangular hollow section resists twisting across its enclosed area, suiting sign posts, gates, canopy framing, and machine enclosures. Section 45062 is 20 by 10 mm in a 0.80 mm wall at 0.120 kg per metre, and section 46002 is 75 by 25 mm in a 2.00 mm wall with a 2.00 mm radius, 1.041 kg per metre. Radiused corners resist denting during repeated handling, which is a practical advantage on long shipping routes.

    4. Unequal Channel

Unequal channel retains panel edges while guiding movement on one axis, used as sliding track, capping, and light framing. Section 32052 is 38.10 mm across the web with a 25.40 mm flange in a 0.90 mm wall, 0.212 kg per metre. The profile is known as unequal channel in the UK and Australia and as unequal U-channel or C-channel in the United States, which is worth noting when matching a section to an overseas drawing.

    5. Conveyor Profile

Conveyor profile, or T-slot extrusion, replaces welded frames with a bolted modular system. Section 70330 is a single-slot rail at 1.20 mm wall, 0.647 kg per metre, and section 70480 is a double-slot rail at 1.35 mm wall, 2.014 kg per metre. Shipping rail in standard lengths and assembling on arrival keeps container volume down compared with exporting finished welded frames.

    6. Flat Bar

Flat bar is the general-purpose stock for brackets, machine bases, spacers, and structural straps. Section 10028 is 19.05 mm by 2.80 mm at 0.145 kg per metre, and section 10204 is a heavy 120 mm by 8 mm with a 2.00 mm radius, 2.592 kg per metre, acting as light plate without plate-stock minimums. Extruded faces arrive square and clean, so no edge dressing is needed before machining on arrival.

Standard profiles remain the practical basis for export orders because the dies are proven, lead times are predictable, and repeat shipments match without adjustment. Load, orientation, fabrication method, and finish decide which section fits.
